Targets

In this article you will learn where you can insert your monthly or yearly targets.

In Shiftbase, it is possible to track your expenses. With target setting, you can establish clear labour cost and productivity benchmarks, enabling real-time insights into your scheduling decisions. In this article you will learn how to set up targets for each department. The targets you can set are Productivity, Labour cost percentage and average hourly wage. You can decide to set targets per year or per month.

Configuring targets

To set up your targets, you can navigate to Settings > Targets. In this menu you see the locations and their departments. Use the year picker on the top of the page to select the desired year. Click on the department to enter the targets.

Target description

The three available targets are Productivity, Labour cost % and Average hourly wage. See the explanation of the targets below.

• Productivity in EUR 

  • Formula: turnover forecast / scheduled hours

    • Colour indicators:

      • Green: ≥ above target

      • Orange: 0-3% below target

      • Red: >3% below target

• Labour cost %

  1. Formula: (total salary / turnover forecast) * 100

     • Colour indicators:

       • Green: ≤ below target

       • Orange: Up to 2% above target

       • Red: >2% above target

• Average hourly wage in EUR

  1. Formula: total salary / scheduled hours

     • Colour indicators:

       • Green: ≤ below target

       • Orange: Up to 10% above target

       • Red: >10% above target

Setting targets in bulk

To speed up the configuration of the targets in your account, you can use the bulk function. Select Actions on the top right and click on Set targets in bulk. Setting targets in bulk consists of two steps. 

In the first step you can select the departments for which you want to set the targets and whether you want these departments to have monthly or yearly target calculation. 
 

In the second step, you can set the values. Hit save to apply these targets.

Tracking your targets

Now that you have set up your targets, they are visible in the schedule when you enable the dedicated filter: Show targets. View the meaning of the colors as described earlier.
