📌 2026-10-14
Hey there! 👋 Here's what's new, fixed, and downright awesome in Shiftbase.
Release date: Wednesday, 14 October 2026
🚀 Top highlights:
Try HR PRO straight from the menu: Not using HR PRO yet? Until now you'd have had a hard time even finding it. HR PRO now has its own spot in the side navigation, so you can see what it does for hiring, contracts and employee files. Admins and account owners can start a free trial or talk to our team from there, and managers can ask their admin for it in one click.
Scheduled reports notification delivered to your inbox: When you create or edit a scheduled report, you can now choose to get an email when it's ready. Open the email, click through and you're looking at your report. No more remembering to go and check.
A faster schedule for big teams: We dug into how the schedule performs on accounts with lots of employees and shifts, and fixed a batch of slowdowns. You'll notice it most when you jump between weeks or months several times in one session, which used to make the schedule sluggish over time. Dragging shifts and scrolling feel smoother too, and the day view now has the smooth sideways scrolling the rest of the app already had.
No more losing unsaved changes: Every page with a save bar now checks with you before you leave with changes you haven't saved. The Performance targets page in settings used to save every change automatically, and now has a save bar as well, so nothing changes until you press Save.
🛠Other fixes & improvements:
- Smarter skill suggestions: If you're in the auto scheduling early access, skill suggestions now also suggest adding employees to an existing skill when you regularly schedule them on shifts that need it. Similar shift names are grouped together better too, so a "bar" shift could turn into a bartending skill. We're keeping a close eye on how this lands, so tell us what you think.
- Share feedback on Labs features: The Priority view and payroll prep now have a feedback button right on the page, plus a short explanation of what Labs is. Tried something and have thoughts? Tell us right where you are.
- Preview templates and contracts: With HR Pro, preview your contract templates and contracts before you send them.
- More absence policies on Basic: Basic plans can now set up more absence policies.
- Tidier menus: Menus across the app (user menu, employee list, schedule actions, Reports, the timesheet toolbar, new hires and contract templates) got icons and clearer labels. Actions that delete things now sit at the bottom, after a divider, so you're less likely to click them by accident. News and comment actions now live in a single menu.
- Performance page refresh: The Performance page matches the new navigation. Switching periods is now a small icon button, and the actions moved from the sidebar to the plus button.
- Personio: You now get an email when Personio rejects an export, and multi-day absences with partial days export to Personio again.
- Guestplan: Adding a new Guestplan integration works again after you pick your restaurant.
- Schedule fixes: Copying schedules to timesheets no longer stops when one employee doesn't have a valid contract, empty availability rows no longer take up space in the team view, the shift exchange window shows its participants again, and auto scheduling ignores skills you've deleted.
- Timesheet fixes: Break inputs in the Priority view step in your department's break interval, German text in the Info/Deviation column no longer spills into the Date column, and the side navigation no longer offers Clock in after someone clocked you in through Clock employee.
- Payroll prep: Sort the columns in the absences step.
- Kiosk: The confirmation screen shows your team and shift again when you clock in or out.
- Employee fixes: The employee list shows hourly wages in your account's currency, and the employee CSV upload template has its contract hours columns back.
- Document fixes: Expiry reminders go out on the right dates (no repeats, and the last reminder is no longer skipped). Document settings tell you which permissions employees need, the "Hidden from employee" setting is clearer about who gets reminded, long file names no longer push the list sideways, and the company files page no longer asks people without upload rights to upload.
- Little things: The side navigation flyout works on sub-pages again, plan cards stop showing the trial label once your trial has ended, editing absences through the API works with all day formats, and you'll spot a fresh Shiftbase loading animation.
📲 Mobile:
- Replacing an expiring document is smoother: the upload window no longer closes on its own after you pick a file, the save button no longer covers the last rows, and you no longer get stuck if the file was already replaced.
Coming soon: we're building bandwidth contracts (min-max hours) so Dutch teams can get ready for the new law well before it takes effect, plus a payroll overview that shows which departments are ready for payroll at a glance.
