📌 2026-08-05
Hey there! 👋 Here's what's new, fixed, and downright awesome in Shiftbase.
Release date: 5 August 2026
🚀 Top Highlights:
Shiftbase Labs - Command palette: Experience the new search optionality, addressable with hotkey Ctrl + K. Quickly look up any menu and view in Shiftbase. Command palette also allows you to perform quick actions like adding a timesheet, an absence or create new teams on the fly. Enable Labs via your profile.
Best-fit suggestions for open shifts: Filling an open shift no longer means guessing who to ask. When you create an open shift, a new recommendation step suggests the best-fit people for it, based on your team and your scheduling preferences. You still invite anyone you like, but now you get a shortlist to start from, so gaps get filled faster.
A new navigation is on its way: We're rolling out a redesigned navigation across Shiftbase, with a vertical sidebar and clearer page headers. It arrives in steps through August, and you'll see a "coming soon" note in the app when it's close. Want it early? You can switch it on today in Labs and tell us what you think.
🛠Other Fixes & Improvements:
- Auto schedule (early access) Conflicts show up in your auto-scheduling draft: If a change creates a scheduling conflict, you now see it right in the draft before you apply it, so nothing slips through.
- Skills got quicker to manage: The skills list has a new search bar and a single create menu, and you can now assign people to a skill straight from the create or edit dialog.
- Pin and drag columns in reports is back: Reorder and pin your report columns again to get the view you want.
- A cleaner, more consistent look: We refreshed the styling across settings and employee pages so they match the rest of Shiftbase.
- Overnight shifts export as one entry (e-uur): A new setting sends an overnight shift to e-uur as a single timesheet instead of splitting it.
- Clearer payroll export emails: When a payroll export runs into a problem, the email now tells you what went wrong so you can fix it fast.
- Keep your time-off balances after a downgrade: A new option lets you stop time-off balance expiration when you move to a lower plan.
- Integration fixes: We updated the Personio connection so it keeps working, and the Unitouch integration now picks up late or corrected clock times from previous days.
Mobile:
- We fixed a bug where tapping submit more than once could create duplicate timesheet entries. One tap, one entry.
- More consistent headers and smoother, native screen animations are on the way as part of the upcoming refresh.
