Guardian signature for under-16 contracts: Hiring someone under 16 in the Netherlands? Their parent or guardian can now sign the contract too, by e-signature or on paper. Turn on "require guardian signature" when you start the hire, and Shiftbase adds the guardian signing fields and sends the right emails to the employee, the employer, and the guardian. Your contracts for under-16 employees stay legally valid, with no workarounds on your side.

Auto-schedule: early access opens today: Auto-schedule builds a draft schedule for you and shows how it performs against your targets, so you spend less time piecing shifts together by hand. This round adds performance indicators after each run, an unassigned-shifts row so you can see exactly what still needs an employee, a setting to decide whether days without stated availability count as available, and cost-aware scheduling that takes plus-minus balances and hourly wages into account. We're rolling it out to early access customers first, starting today.

A cleaner navigation, now open to everyone in Labs: The new navigation is switched on for everyone to try in Labs. Opt in to get a clearer layout, with view options and actions grouped together in the page header so you find what you need faster. Want to see the difference before you switch? 🛠 Other fixes and improvements

  • Chat is now its own module: Chat has moved out of HR PRO into its own space under Communications, with its own opt-in and opt-out. Already using chat through HR PRO? Nothing changes for you, it stays switched on.
  • Cancel HR PRO yourself: You can now turn off HR PRO straight from your account settings, without contacting support. We'll ask why you're leaving so we can keep making it better.
  • Refreshed sign-in security screens: The multi-factor authentication (MFA) screens have a cleaner, clearer design.
  • Subscription page refresh: The subscription page has a tidier layout, with consistent backgrounds across Shiftbase.
  • Editing a break now saves: Changing a break directly in the schedule saves correctly again.
  • More fixes you asked for: You can now clear a contract end date, non-balance absence types no longer throw an error, timesheets handle gaps between contracts correctly, and shift reminder emails send even when custom fields are in play.

📲 Mobile

  • Public holiday heads-up: When you request or edit time off that lands on a public holiday, the mobile app now flags it, so hours dropping to zero never catch you by surprise.
  • Overlapping absence indicator: The mobile app now shows when absences overlap, making clashes easier to spot at a glance.
